Carey Comes To Wall Street

The March three visit was hosted by Careyâs Real Estate Advisory Board spearheaded by Carey alumnus and Board Chair Jeffrey Olson, the chairman and CEO of Urban Edge Properties. The daylong symposium included panelists, audio system, and group spherical table discussions featuring executives from different parts of the actual property and monetary industries; the symposium targeted particularly on actual estate funding trusts (REITs). Most of the scholars in attendance are enrolled in Careyâs MS in Real Estate and Infrastructure (MS REI) program. The trip also included students from the Global MBA and MS in Finance packages. Several students lauded the event as a singular opportunity to satisfy, network with, and learn from business leaders at a historic an d important venue. âI was very impressed with the whole event,â mentioned Steve Marker, a student within the MS REI program. âIt offered an experience I wouldn't have had exterior of Johns Hopkins University.â Fisayo Alade, an element-time MS REI scholar, agreed, saying: âThe opportunity to listen to business giants at an iconic location made the occasion highly effective and engaging.â Matt Garono, a fellow part-time MS REI pupil, mentioned the occasion was âworld-classâ and noted that it had âa few of the largest names in actual property.â âIt was a novel studying experience and a privilege to be there,â Garono mentioned. The panelists and speakers included a variety of trade leaders. The keynote was delivered by Steve Roth, founder and chairman of Vornado Realty Trust. After Rothâs remarks, there have been two panels moderated by Olson that each featured two panelists: a panel discussing REIT evaluation and a panel on capital markets. The REIT Analysis P anel Discussion featured Mary Hogan, managing director and co-head of Americas Real Estate for APG Asset Management US; and Steve Sakwa, senior managing director and senior equity research analyst at Evercore ISI. The Capital Markets Panel Discussion featured Michael Graziano, co-head of Global Real Estate Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs; and Guy Metcalfe, managing director and global chairman of Real Estate Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley. Later, the panelists and fellow trade luminaries on Careyâs Real Estate Advisory Board hosted free-flowing roundtable discussions with groups of 5 to eight college students.
